Welcome to 2003

I have been inspired by Catherine to record a list of Memorable Moments of 2002. Here goes …

  • January: My parents host both UW Basketball teams to lunch at our house in Ottawa – the mud room has never seen so many shoes.
  • February: Two solid weeks of being obsessed with the Olympics.
  • March: Laura and I finish the Math yearbook and breathe a HUGE sigh of relief.
  • April: I write my last undergraduate exam and subsequently turn my brain off for my four month “summer of delightful unemployment.”
  • May: Christine and Jeff’s wedding in Saskatchewan – and of course my purple bridesmaids dress.
  • June: Convocation weekend: the ceremony, my speech, and “My Fair Lady” in Stratford.
  • July: Canada Day in Ottawa – even though it was disgustingly hot and humid.
  • August: My trip to Europe with my mother and Estonia becoming my new favourite country.
  • September: Starting life as a grad student and starting the learn a new set of ropes.
  • October: Climbing the CN Tower – I still don’t understand why no one else was as excited as Heather, Doug and I.
  • November: Going to the new Harry Potter movie in my Weasley Jumper.
  • December: Surviving Stat 901 and vacationing with my family in Mexico.

So that’s that. I guess it was a pretty good year. Actually it was a great year. Lots of good times – a few rough ones too but they just showed me how amazing it is to have the friends I do. I hope that 2003 turns out to be just as memorable. The big unknown of the upcoming year is where I’ll be going to school next September. Hopefully that will be resolved by April.

My Christmas break has been an absolute blast. I just had to post this picture of myself, Nic, Cindy and Alli because I think we look so cute in the sweaters my Mom knit for us.

My New Year’s resolution is to learn how to pack light. I’m heading back to Waterloo on Saturday and I’ve discovered that I have a tonne of stuff to pack. Not only did I bring a lot home but I’ve acquired some stuff over the past few weeks (like the new cross country skis my parents got me for Christmas) and it all has to get packed. Needless to say my suitcases will be bursting at the seams!

Nice job cropping! You’ve saved me the hassel :)
Now we just need HP:3 to come out so we can be the coolest kids on the block!

  2. Cecilia says:

We’re already the coolest kids on the block!

  3. Catherine says:

*sniff* and here I thought I was one of the coolest kids on the block too… Is it necessary to be a Cotton in order to be one?

  4. Cecilia says:

Technically no. I think you are suitably HP obsessed to join the cool kids club :)
