Look what I made!

How cool is that? Those are 5 intersecting tetrahedra made entirely by folding paper – no glue or tape.
I’ve decided that I’m not allowed to start another origami project until I get moving on knitting the second sleeve of my sweater. Folding paper is just so much fun though!
I’ve used:
"A Plethora of Polyhedra in Origami" by John Montroll
(ISBN 0486422712)
and
"Polyhedron Origami for Beginners" by Miyuki Kawamura
(ISBN 4889960856)
Both are pretty interesting books; if you find yourself becoming horribly addicted, check them out. Montroll’s book is cool (in a masochistic sort of way) in that each model is built from a single square of paper. Obviously this limits the types of solids you can create, but also forces you/him to think up new approaches. Kawamura’s book is quite accessible, although I did have trouble finding it in stores.
Anyway, your latest effort looks very cool. Several years ago, a friend of mine had his brother make up large polyhedral origami models for his wedding — they hung from the ceiling and were on each table. I’ve never seen people (admittedly, most were science/math/CS folks) fight over table assignments like that…
I’m so jealous! I wish I was still in Waterloo and could be on an origami apprenticeship and making cool stuff like that too.
