Mark your calendars

I’ve reached the point in my life where I have friends who are turning 30. I have more than two years to go until I hit the big 3-0 but I’ve been interested in observing how different people mark the day: ignore it, small party with friends, trips to Vegas, second annual 29th birthday party etc. I have set a goal of finishing my PhD by my 30th birthday. I’d like to finish sooner but I think this is more realistic. Besides it would be a nice way to round out the decade. So I want to have a combination 30th birthday/PhD graduation/first real job/return to Canada all-in-one blow out celebration.

It will be legendary.

August long weekend of 2008.

    I’ll mark my calendar
    but I plan to be in Korea, or somewhere else far away

    Which weekend is August is it? I can never remember which long weekend goes where. Except for Canada day that is, that one is easy.

    The Civic Holiday falls on the first Monday in August. In 2008 that will be Monday August 4. So basically we’re looking at the weekend immediately following my (and Dad’s) birthday.
