Stereotypically Seattle

Today in Seattle it rained. It was the kind of rain that makes you think you won’t see the sun again until April. It was the first cold, wet day of the season and even though the trees have been various shades of red and yellow for weeks it seems as though autumn truly arrived today. Winter can’t be that far away.

While the temperature never really gets that low here the damp cold really gets to me. It’s like the cold gets into my bones. I’ve moved into the mode of always having a mug of coffee, tea or just plain hot water to sip. I’ve also dug out my collection of mitts, toques and scarfs. The polar fleece jacket that I put on in the morning doesn’t seem to come off until bedtime. My electric blanket it key to my quality of life since I am incapable of heating my own feet at night and also incapable of falling asleep if my feet are cold. Yes, it’s definitely fall here!
